T-Ball Season 1

I never thought being a parent that I would be good at coaching until I tried it. This season was the most fun that I have had in a long time! All of the kids that I had on my team were awesome and have learned so much, it was crazy seeing how far they came from the first practice till today. This week marks the final week of our first t-ball season. Mackenzie had so much fun playing and getting to know new friends and playing one of mommies favorite sports, baseball!

Mackenzie learned a lot about playing t-ball this season and just the simple things from running to first base to hitting the ball and remembering to run! She would get a little A.D.D. in the field and just want to chase butterflys or watch the airplanes, all it would take is me saying Mackenzie a ball is going to hit you in the face if you dont pay attention to the batter. That would get her to finally pay attention! =)

I can't wait till next season which is in the Spring 2012. I hope to be able to coach again but am also hoping that other things and job opportunities will come my way!

Great job baby girl and I can't wait to see how much better you get from now till next season!

Paint Pens...

So I found these new pens the other day that contain paint! Now I am not usually one to NOT let Mackenzie show her creative side and I love to let her finger paint and put stickers and what not but ever since moving into the new house I have been NERVOUS she is going to get it somewhere she shouldn't.

So after finding these pens I got so excited and let her go crazy with them with paper on our kitchen floor and she and I had a blast for a good 2 hours the other morning with hot chocolate, coffee and paint! =) I am so thankful for moments like these where we can just lay down on the floor and have a great time together and let me tell you its been a long time since we have done so! =) Considering we have been in the house together for almost 4 days now it was a great stress reliever that she was occupied and not getting into something she shouldn't LOL =) I love my little trouble maker!

I highly recommend these to any parent who isnt quite there at letting your kids get horribly messy with paints or any other liquid colors! =)

3 years!

So although I know that Mackenzie turned 3 in August I am so far behind on everything that I am finally getting around to letting everyone know whats going on with her!

I had to take her to the doctor this past week and was able to get her stats... Right now she is 3ft 2in and 33.6lbs... Which of course is over the % of a normal 3 year old, but of course she is a big girl I wouldn't expect anything less! =)

Mack is so smart... she loves singing her ABC's and is finally counting to 15 we were having issues with her numbers there for a while! She LOVES to dance and sing all the time and is always asking to have music on or to watch dancing people on youtube! Yes my 3 year old asks about youtube! lol =) Nothing much has really changed about her except she LOVE LOVE LOVES to talk! From the moment she wakes up till she sleeps she just loves to talk... somedays I wish I owned ear plugs so she could just ramble on and on lol!

I cant believe how big Mackenzie has got in such a short amount of time! Her and I have full blown conversations all the time now and I love it! Just recently I have been able to start reading a book my friend let me borrow that has to do with Strong willed children which everyone I know, knows that Mackenzie is EXTREMELY independent and strong willed! Although I love it I also really hate it, but in the long run she will be a very strong woman for it!

I love my baby though with all my heart and I am happy that I am able to finally really bond with her and play with her and have her do crafts that she actually understands! I cannot believe in 3 short months Mackenzie will be 3 and starting preschool in the Fall! It will probably be one of the hardest things I will do, since I have been with her 24/7 since the day she was born! I am not going to look that far ahead though I am going to spend the MOST amount of time with her this summer since I will be going to school and she will be as well!

I am so proud of my little monkey! She is one amazing little girl and I love her so much!

So wow I cannot believe how long its been since I actually posted on Mackenzie's blog... THANKSGIVING was the last time.... Very crazy!

So much has happened with her since then. I feel like my little baby girl is grown up! In a twin bed, all potty trained and speaking like a five year old. I cannot believe she is such a big girl and only at 2 1/2 years old... Its hard enough to believe that she will be three in August! Seems just like yesterday that her first Easter was coming up and on Sunday it will be her 3rd.

Potty training was AMAZINGLY a breeze... The first day was a little mess but we got through it great. The only problem we had was going #2 in the potty. After about a week she was going both and doing great! She has been trained for about a month now and we do NOT have any accidents at all, out and about or at home either! I love it and I love the money that is being saved on diapers and pull ups! She is such a good girl and loves going to the bathroom and washing her hands... Poor little thing has such dry hands now so then she loves putting on lotion! =0)

WE are having an issue with her sleeping through the night lately and I am not strong enough to let her cry through it so I have not slept alone in about two months since we have lived in our house! But with time that will pass as well!

Although we havent done much these past two months we have had a lot of Mackenzie and mommy time, which at times can make for a trying day! But I love it since in August I will be going to school and she will be in daycare/preschool.

I have been trying to get back into the craft mood lately and just havent been able to do it! Well finally I sat down with Mackenzie and we were able to create a turkey that I found the instructions for on the internet! The fun thing was that the craft includes her hands and feet in it so I will always remember how little she was. (I am one of those people who keep things) lol =o)

On Sunday, November 1st we went and took Mackenzie to get her two year photos done... a little late but oh well they finally got done! =) I LOVE LOVE LOVE what we chose for her to wear... it showed both sides of her personality perfectly I wouldn't have changed one thing about what she wore or any of the pictures that she took. I love my little munchkin to death and I am so blessed to have a very well balanced child. She is so smart and sassy, its amazing what the little ones pick up these days and being in a truck with her daddy driving in California is not a good idea for someone who REPEATS EVERYTHING =) I have to share with everyone what she said just the other day while we were driving through Anaheim, CA. Gary was upset about a certain driver and so he proceeded to cuss him out. What follows may either make you crack up laughing or just shake your head... My two year old daughter told her father the other day, "daddy whats wrong? fucking California stupid ass drivers?" Although I should have told her no and shown her that it wasn't ok to talk like that I was trying my hardest to laugh into my sweater so that she didn't see me! Like I said the things that kid will pick up! =) Well enough chitter chatter... Here are the pics of crazy girl! xoxo

Tonight was so much fun… We had a great dinner at my great-uncle Glen’s house. We had an awesome time and Mackenzie had so much fun playing with the kitty kitties and the dogs!

Well after our great dinner Mackenzie and her Papa Jimmy Jimmy put together her brand new Handy Manny toy racecar! She and Papa put it together, together it was so cute to watch it and I obviously had to take pictures.

As Gary and I were sitting with Mackenzie the other day he happened to pull out his phone and have the desire to take a picture of Mack... i mean who wouldn't... but he ended up getting the cutest photo of her watch Monsters Inc and I couldnt help but share with everyone... "Birth"day, one and two!!!

Well we finally went to Mackenzie's 2 year check up and like my friend Danielle said, we can now call our babies toddlers... I never really thought that I would be sad about it but I am. I know that Mackenzie is growing so fast and learning new things all the time and talking back... oh so fun... but the saddest thing is that she acts like she doesnt need me anymore due to her going through an I can do it on my own phase! =( But I couldn't ask for a more intelligent little girl... on her actual birthday she counted to 10 on her own while playing with her cards... it was amazing to just sit there and listen to her do that and I couldn't have been more proud!

Mackenzie is still in the 75-90% in everything: 28.5lbs, 35 3/4in., 46cm (head). She has always been a big girl but I knew she would since I have always been big as well! She only had to receive one shot this time so it wasn't as tramatic considering all that she has been through in the last couple months... But one thing that her Dr. was amazed by was the fact that her and Mackenzie were actually able to have a conversation. She said she is very bright and her vocabulary is outstanding... Makes a parent very proud to hear that!

So my little "TOMBOY"’ is starting to actually get into dolls now! It is the cutest thing… Mackenzie carries her babies around like they are actual babies. She is so gentle with them and loves them and trys to feed them and give them her milk! Ahhh… being the mother to a two year old girl is so cute, fun, and definetly hard! =) Then there are times like these... BABY BATH TIME!!!

I found Mackenzie on Sunday in the bath tub giving her baby a bath and I thought wow do I get mad or do I just laugh and wanting to capture this I ran and got the camera and was chuckling the whole way back to the bathroom. She had climbed in, after undressing her baby and starting the bath, and sat down and just started washing her baby and having a grand time! I think we sat in the bathroom for a good half hour before I finally told her that we had to get out and go to the store! =) She wasn’t to happy about that but after dinner she got to take her own bath and that made it all better! =)

Being a monkey....

So as most of you know I call Mackenzie my little Monkey, because she practically is one! LOL She will jump around on the furniture and jump from things and then hop onto another thing! Its actually quite funny to watch. She even sits like a monkey which is absolutely hilarious. But on with the story... the other day while I was sitting on the computer my brother Michael and Mackenzie were playing in the office with my backpack! Now normally one would thing that he was putting it on her back and just messing around! UH NO!!! He had put her inside the backpack and was carrying her around like a female monkey would do for her baby. It was the funniest thing and I just had to share the pictures with everyone because its just one of those moments that make you laugh and make you wonder all in the same three minutes! LOL

In the first photo she was laughing hysterically... but going into the second photo which in all honesty was like the tenth she started getting upset. But she laughed as soon as I put the camera away! =)

Well despite the fact that I have been dreading getting my precious one's little curls chopped off I finally drug myself down to Snip It's and got Mackenzie's hair cut! I was absolutely amazed at how well she did not once did she whine or complain. She moved a lot but I am pretty sure that people who work with kids are use to that! I am just so proud of her and how well she did and her hair came out so cute! She has a layers and bangs now... Dont worry now curls were hurt in the process! LOL =)

22 Months...

Well everyday it is getting harder to take in that Mackenzie is getting older. On June 8th (yes I am a little late) Mackers turned 22 months and all I could ask was where in the word has the time gone! But I am also happy because Mackenzie is a very healthy and happy child. I am very happy to also say that she is so smart, her and I can pretty much carry on a conversation now and its amazing! She knows two shapes so far: circle and heart, and she is working on her colors but she knows: blue, green and brown. Its awesome how much she takes in everyday, but like my mom says we need to watch what we say about her because she repeats everything that we say, I MEAN EVERYTHING!

So today we were out and about and I was over by IKEA... so my natural instinct is to go in! lol Well I originally went in there for a set of cups, plates, bowls, and utensils for Mackenzie and ended up finding an Easel that I thought she would really love and get a ton of use out of it.

So while she was taking a nap I got it all set up and all of her crayons, pencils, markers, chalk and brushes put into a container and all ready for when she got up from her nap! As soon as she woke up she walked out of her room and saw it. She had a blast for over an hour. Going from chalk to coloring on paper and then of course to painting with her cute little red smock! I am so glad that she loved it and now that give us one more thing through the week that doesnt cost any money and is fun to do! It will be a lot easier to, to help her learn more of her colors, shapes, numbers, and letters. Well enjoy the photos of my little artist!

So as I was sitting here tonight and I was looking at all of Mackenzie's pictures just thinking about how big she is getting and how she is starting to make friends that I know will be around for a long time I came across the photo below! It is Mackenzie and her friend Ella... I think these two have a wonderful friendship ahead of them. Like Jill and I always say... "those two fight like they are sisters" which in all reality is true. I come to find that to be a good thing, because I fight with my best friend like that and we have been friends for almost 6 years and I wouldnt trade our friendship for anything.

So this morning I had just gotten done feeding Mackenzie... she was absolutely filthy and I didnt want to carry her through the house. So I decided to just give her a bath in the sink... This past Friday Mackenzie and I had a great time on our trip to Tucson with him. He had to work but it was nice again being in the truck with him! Mackenzie always has a blast in the trailer running around and messing with things and ABSOLUTELY loves playing with all the buttons in the tractor! It was a great time and we had a good day!

Today was so much fun. I had the opportunity to watch my friend Jills kids, Ella and Ryen. Mackenzie and Ella had so much fun... even though sometimes they can be a hand full together (they fight like they are sisters)! But still it was a great time!

They had fun finger painting, swimming, playing with toys, and eating yummy PIZZA for lunch! =) Well enough said enjoy the photos!

This morning I decided to get up and instead of just giving Mackenzie her usual cereal or toast and egg, we made some yummy blueberry muffins! She had a lot of fun helping me with the stirring, but she got side tracked when she tasted it and all she wanted to do was eat the batter! DIAMONDBACKS VS. DODGERS....

This past Friday Mackenzie and I were able to attend the Diamondbacks game with my parents and brothers. We had so much fun... not that I was able to pay attention to the game much! And sad to say that the Dodgers ended up loosing! =(

Although this wasnt Mackenzie's first ball game you would have thought it was due to her excitment for everything around her. But she was a normal kid in a stadium full of junk food. She had her dinner or Pizza and bologna (ya weird combo) and then went on to have a TON of sweets!

Needless to say we were out pretty late and by the time we left and got the freeway she was passed out (but woke up half way home). She then slept till 10:30 the next morning. =) Well here are some pictures... Enjoy!

20 months....

Well yesterday my little monster turned 20 MONTHS and I still can't say enough that she is growing up so fast. I don't have many pictures if any of this past month. She has been very sick and hasn't been very photogenic and I just have been trying to concentrate on getting her well! But she is still very smart for her age... she is starting to ask for things in sentences and of course always uses her manners. Her big girl bed is going very well she usually gets out of it once and then after that will just go to bed. I am still stumped on how to get rid of her BOTTLE its driving me nuts that she will be TWO in four months and she is still not off of it! We will see what happens! I will have more updates soon when Mackenzie gets a little better and is in the mood to actually let me take her picture! =) Until then....

Potty time....

Well today Mackenzie went potty on her big girl toilet for the first time! She woke up from her nap today and told me that she had to go "poo-poo"... so instead of blowing it off (she sometimes tricks me) I went and sat her on the potty and low and behold about five minutes later there was both number 1 and number 2 in her potty... YAY MACKENZIE! I am so proud of her I hope that this is the start of finishing off her diapers and from now on using the potty! =) Wish her and me luck in this little journey we call POTTY TRAINING!

19 months and lots of changes!!!

Mackenzie the first night in her big girl bed... and the other is when she first saw it!

19 months and I still cannot believe it! Last year at this time she was only 7 months and that makes me sad! She has grown to be such a smart and strong willed individual. One thing is definitely nice though… I am able to understand my baby finally! She is able to now tell me certain things and it’s absolutely amazing. Mackenzie is now up to almost a hundred words and I still can’t believe it! We have almost completely eliminated the “naughty” words… so that is always a plus!

But besides hitting 19 months we have also introduced three different things this week. Which I have already let up on two and have decided to take it even slower than I thought I would want to… BIG GIRL BED (which is the only thing that has stuck), NO MORE BOTTLE (taking a different approach), and POTTY TRAINING (I am confused right now).

Her BIG GIRL BED has been working out wonderful… she has been in it for about a week now and we have only had two bad nights. She has slept great in it for the rest of the time. Putting herself to sleep and everything! I am so proud of how well she is doing! The bottle is a different story it seems that this one is going to be a struggle and I am mixed between what two very close people have told me… either to cold turkey her and just take it or slowly decrease the amount of milk in the bottle each night and just let her go off like that! So any suggestions would be appreciated! As for potty training that will not happen until she is completely off the bottle but if she continues to take of her diapers and go potty on my floor I am going to bring out the roll of DUCT TAPE! Don’t test me… ill do it! Lol

Monkey and the Basket....

Well not to much has been happening the past couple weeks... nothing exciting anyways. Just trying to get back into the groove of Gary being gone and all that jazz. But like always we have been hanging out with my parents a lot... from my brothers basketball games to my school and softball we have just been over there at least four times a week. Thanks mom and dad... =) But Mackenzie has an absolute blast over there all the time... She loves her uncle Devin and every chance she gets they play together... Well speaking of my little brother he has this orange monkey about the size of Mackenzie and she just absolutely loves it... She will play and wrestle with this thing. Its so cute.... and then there is also this pink laundry basket that my parents have had since my brother was learning to walk (over 9 years ago) and it is actually also how Mackenzie learned to walk. But that is another thing that she and uncle Devin love to play with... Well here are some pictures of the monkey and the basket!

18 months...

Well my big girl turned 18 months yesterday and of course I cried! I just can't believe that in six short months she will be turning two... It is just so odd and makes you wonder where in the world the time has gone!

Here is a picture with daddy the morning of February 8th, 2009! Such a big girl and yay I am actually able to do her hair now! =)

So on another note we took her in for her 18 month well check today and luckly their were no shots due... Thank goodness! For some odd reason she was ahead and I wasn't going to complain! =) She is still the big girl we know and love: 26lbs 8.8oz. (75%), 33inches (85%), 48cm (head) (80%) so all around she is a very well rounded child the doctor was very impressed with her speech and being able to actually communicate with the doctor as she was checking her out! Also Gary and i sat down the other night and wrote down a list of all the words that Mackenzie knows and she is up to 75 as of our count this evening. I am so proud of her and am so lucky to have a smart little girl!

Panda and Cars...

Okay so I know that I havent posted about the little one in awhile. Sorry school is starting to take over my life! =) We havent been up to, to much lately just hanging around the house getting some things done. Mackenzie and daddy have been having a wonderful time hanging out together for the last month the sit and play all day long and watch movies or play race car games.

So the latest two things that Mackenzie has absolutely fallen in love with are Kung Fu Panda and Need for Speed:Carbon! It is the funniest thing with b

oth.

For "Panda" as she calls it she will just sit and watch the movie with maybe one or two words in between she even knows some of the words to the movie, although mommy and daddy know them all, its getting to the point I am going to erase it from my T.V. But then again it is how I finally am able to get things done!

As far as the racing game goes its hilarious when Gary turns on the television and his XBOX she knows right away to go and get her remote which she calls "Cars." She will just sit and play with him and it is just adorable to watch the both of them. =)

So this past week Mackenzie has been having issues taking naps. She just doesnt want to take them or it takes her forever to fall asleep. Well i finally gave in once this past week and let her get outta her bed and at 5:30 when she was eating dinner this is what happened...

We bought a bike trailer over a year ago and we have been waiting so long to take Mackenzie for a ride in it and finally decided she was big enough to go for a ride in it. I was a little scared for her to be in it but she loved it! Daddy and her went for a great ride and I got some pictures of it but its a little hard to do that when they are moving! lol....

So the other morning I walked out of my office/extra bedroom for about I would say all of 3 minutes and I came back to a destroyed room and Mackenzies legs the color of a smurf. :) I couldnt stop laughing it was just to funny...

After the fact she got another pen and tried again...

Changes, Crafts and Reading...

So I decided to change Mackenzie's blog page. I really didn't like the baby sites blog so here I am starting all over with a new one!

So this past week I finally was able to sit down and do a craft with Mackenzie for the first time in I dont know how long. But it was just a simple finger paint and all that matters is that she had a blast and was covered in blue and hot pink paint afterward's.

Another thing that happened this past week was sorta cute. Lately Mackenzie has been grabbing people that she wants to do something with and pretty much pulling them down to her level to play. Well she did that to me the other day and it was so cute because she wanted me to read to her. Gary was fortunate enough to get some photos of this...

This one is cute too... she loves the book we are reading... its all about different types of babies.
